However, many questions come up when this topic is addressed such as: How do I know if I'm moving correctly? What's the best type of exercise for me? How do I fix poor posture? Lecture "Labwork for Raw Vegans" by Dr. Rick Dina

Blood chemistry analysis can be a highly valuable health assessment tool. Lab results, however, are only as useful as the knowledge and experience of the practitioner interpreting them. All too frequently, raw foodists are told they are not healthy based on their labwork, when in fact they are often times extremely healthy! Other times there may be issues to address that go ignored, based on the thinking that “I’m raw, so none of those reference ranges matter for me.” Both unfortunate situations need not occur with a proper understanding of labwork for raw vegans.
This presentation will be given by a clinician who is a 25 year raw vegan himself, and has seen labwork on hundreds of patients from raw vegans to SAD eaters to water fasters. Several different lab results and case histories will be presented and discussed.

Presentation ‘An investigation into the evolution of the human brain. Our unique symbiotic relationship with specialized plant development environments (fruit) and the origins of our highly advanced neural system.’ by Tony Wright

Our unique physiology and extraordinary perceptual equipment (our brain) was not exclusively or even primarily the result of classic adaptive selection.
Our DNA and the ‘primitive’ survival orientated asymmetric neural structures it always builds were immersed and hot housed in the most chemically complex developmental environment in the whole of biological evolution.
It took the combined molecular engineering power of many tens of the most advanced biochemical factories (flowering plants) that owned hormonally rich developmental environments (fruit) to do the job.
The convergence of their advanced biochemical ‘know how’ all focused in one place was necessary to design, construct and operate the most complex piece of molecular engineering we know, our own neural system.
Symbiotic evolution at the developmental level, an exceptionally rare phenomena and totally unique in evolutionary history so not exactly surprising that what emerged was correspondingly rare, phenomenal and totally unique.

Today physical movement is being realized, more than ever, as an essential to the equation of health. There are plenty of raw food couch potatoes, who are healthier than they were, yet, as soon as the sedentary raw fooders start to exercise, they encounter problems. There are even some true athletes who are finding some limitations because of their diets. Together we can go over the needs of turning up the athletic volume up a notch or two and see how making some small adjustments in our diet can support our increasingly physical demands and at the same time expand our health.

Lecture "Omega 3 Fats in Raw Vegan Nutrition" by Dr. Rick Dina

Most low fat raw vegans know that leafy greens are a good source of the omega 3 essential fat ALA. Most everyone else will argue that two other omega 3 fats, EPA and DHA, are also extremely important for health, but plants don’t contain them. They’ll cite research showing the human body cannot effectively convert ALA from plants into EPA and DHA, concluding we need fish or fish oil, and vegans are therefore compromising their health.
My own research and clinical experience have given me a different perspective. After a basic discussion of essential fatty acids and omega 3’s, I’ll show the cell membrane fatty acid profiles of 5 vegan patients I’ve had tested. This includes high fat, moderate fat, and low fat raw vegans. I’ll let the results speak for themselves!

Presentation ‘A journey to the edge of the human mind. Exposing the delusion we inevitably mistake for reality.’ by Tony Wright

Ancient mythology, mystical and philosophical traditions tell us our perception is seriously limited and we are psychologically deluded. In effect our lens of perception has become distorted creating a sense of separation from our true essence.
Modern science tells us we are at the peak of evolution, our rational mind has highly advanced traits and abilities, yet some bizarre anomalies exist in the scientific literature. For example, the dominant side of our brain does not perceive reality directly and is limited to inventing concepts or approximations; it also continuously confabulates (lies) without realizing it.
Intriguingly there is increasing evidence that our own hormones are responsible for retarding the structural development of our brain, or at least the side of our brain that is in charge.

The science is always changing; in fact, there is now a new blood test for B-12. Jointly we can go over the science and make some of our own conclusions.

Lecture "The Principles of Starting a Business So You Can Afford a High Quality Fruit Diet" by Michael Arnstein

A diet comprised of high quality fruits and vegetables can be extremely expensive. For most, the cost of eating a fruit based diet is the limiting factor in continuing with the diet. The lecture will cover the macro principles in developing a business model that can give you the financial freedom you desire.
Unfortunately in today’s society financial resources heavily influence how well you can eat, live and enjoy all things in life. Making enough money is the first step in securing your long term goals in eating a fruitarian diet.
Michael Arnstein has been an entrepreneur for more than 20 years. From humble beginnings hauling garbage in his 1978 pickup truck, to running a company with over 50 employees in 3 different countries, he has earned a PhD from the school of hard knocks. He’ll share his experiences in developing a business based on sound principles for success.
Please bring a pen and paper to take notes.

Lecture ‘Ethical Veganism - Where is it Taking Us’ by Jeff Atwell

One of the main reasons for adopting a vegan diet is ethical. An ethical vegan is committed to the abolition of animal exploitation. Another way of saying this is that an ethical vegan considers it immoral to initiate the use of force on an animal. This can be seen as a special case of a more general principle: the initiation of the use of force is always wrong. In philosophy, this is known as the non-aggression principle, and it has big implications for how society should be organized. I will discuss these implications in this talk.
