Dear Organizers,
I'd like to ask you to reconsider accepting the Rawbrahs to the Fruit Fest because they not only eat animal products, they actively promote doing so too.
Their actions send out a very bad vibe and has turned off many participants and will turn away many others.
I'm certainly reconsidering my attendance as well.
I don't have anything personal with them, but I know I won't feel comfortable around them.
Let's keep the FruitFest vegan as it should be!
Thank you for understanding.

Permalink Reply by Chuck Carlson on February 4, 2012 at 11:03am i agree with the OP. It was fine to have them last year, shortly after the controversy then, as they seemed a little lost and maybe being around the best of the fruity world would help. But alas, they are deep into promoting animal products now, enough is enough.
Permalink Reply by James Mitarnowski on February 4, 2012 at 1:55pm I think the Raw Brahs are trying to pimp themselves out to controversy to get more popularity. I am ok with that because that is their choice.
I met them last year and they were nice to me and we became friends. So what if they want to eat dead animals. As long as they are not eating them at the festival, but they should have to pay and not be allowed to volunteer.
Permalink Reply by Robert Fulop on February 4, 2012 at 8:55pm Hey James,
The problem is they give the fruit fest a bad name.. also turns off a lot of people.. and next thing we know all the paleo people will show up and DV or DW gets invited..
They can do their thing anywhere else, but they should stay away from our fruit fest.
It's an insult to vegans if they are allowed.
The truth is lots of people who are on this website and who are coming to the festival are not vegans.
All our Pioneers are vegans and eating 100% fruits and vegetables diet.
RawBrahs are not our Pioneers or presenters.
They are going to film the event and they are very good with camera.
Permalink Reply by Mark Petrie on February 4, 2012 at 10:30pm Yuliya, that's actually missing the point completely IMHO.
I would assume that those going (non vegans) are not actively promoting a flesh based diet to a very wide audience and strongly suggesting that a 811/LFRV/fruitarian diet is unhealthy for many. Congruence isn't relegated to diet. In addition, they were volunteers last year and I think it's safe to say they branded themselves on the bulk of the stuff. I can't imagine allowing them to use WFF as a venue for their message or presence.
Am I to take "They are going to film" as the WFF admin final decision of the matter? If so, I'm saddened to hear that and would pull my participation and support of the event. How many kids with a camera can you buy for every one person that does not attend? I hope you will reconsider.
At the moment we are trying to get in touch with them and let them have their say.
I just looked through their youtube channel - I didn't find one video in which they were directly promoting animal products. If you find any - please embed the link here.

Permalink Reply by Mark Petrie on February 5, 2012 at 1:15am Yuliya, they aren't hiding the fact - it's all over the place on the fb page and posts.
Here's a few snippets from this week:
RAWBRAHS ON DEER MURDERING:
"RawBrahs We visit a lot organic stores, organic farms, etc, and have picked our own fruits, veggies, & even milked goats, but the extent of harvesting our own food goes to farming some fruits, veggies in our yard and fishing some in the past along with picking wild berries.
We are actually in the process of trying to figure out how to visit some bee keepers & kill our own meat, but with all the regulations, licenses, specific legal seasons, and our schedule, it has been proven to be quite difficult. However, we are dedicated to doing this, so please stay in touch so we can report back with our experience with it."

Permalink Reply by Robert Fulop on February 4, 2012 at 10:47pm Yulia, please do not put RBs in the same category with the other participants. They are internet 'celebrities' and have a lot of followers.
People will associate WFF with the RBs 'do whatever, eat whatever; no ethics' style.
That is not something I want to take part of.
.
OMG they are going to film the event??? Be in my face every second???
No thank you.
.
I hope you will reconsider by the end of the month, otherwise I'll have to cancel.
Permalink Reply by Mark Petrie on February 4, 2012 at 10:37pm James, I think your "who cares" attitude get to the heart of it. My perhaps naive hope was that WFF did care even if some of the individuals didn't have an ethical vegan foundation.
Permalink Reply by Mark Petrie on February 4, 2012 at 4:17pm Kudos Rawbert for the thread!
I was looking forward to returning to WFF this year. However I have heard that the R*wBrah's were invited back. Given their message and support of anti veganism and directly promoting consumption of flesh and animal products, I would be sorely disappointed if they were in fact welcomed back. WFF should be in NO way supportive of that message nor allow any opportunity for the RB to gain more exposure to/thru our community. I have not registered yet and will not if they are indeed going due to my strong ethical beliefs.
